Primary school children looking to have some fun at a brand new event and raise money for the CHOC Cows will converge on Cliffview Primary School in Gauteng on Saturday morning for the inaugural staging of the Laps4Cows event.
The first of its kind, the event is aimed at primary school children, assisted if needed by their parents, and involved the youngsters trying to complete as many laps as possible in a half hour period, taking on the options of a run, cycle, run/cycle/run duathlon, climbing stairs or climbing a giant inflatable.
“The hooter will sound the start of each half an hour period and the kids get a rubber band for every lap they complete,” said organiser Nigel Laver.
“There will be time to rest before they get to move onto the next one.
“At the end of the day we will have prizes for the person who does the most number of laps overall, and for the most number of laps on each individual discipline,” he explained.
Late entries are being taken an no extra charge at the school from 7:30 on Saturday morning. Entering three events costs R60 and all five costs R100.
